Susie Birchenough: Biography
With over 20 years experience, Susie Birchenough is a Certified Yoga,
Pilates, NIA Instructor, and a Wellness Life Coach. Originally
certified through Kripalu Institute, she has sinced earned an
advanced yoga teaching certification with Yoga Master, Erich
Schiffman, and is certified with Yoga Alliance at the highest
attainable level: RYT e-500. Susie has also studied with
renowned yoga masters Rod Stryker, John Friend, Shiva Rea
and Rodney Yee.
Susie’s style of yoga is her own fusion of yoga schools, with a
strong basis in Iyengar.
Susie’s passion, study and understanding of movement,
meditation, pranyana and postural alignment have led to her
internal awareness of the oneness of the mind~body~spirit. To
her, true wellness must be complete and therefore, Susie interweaves all elements of the physical body, mental attitude,
spirituality, nutritional intake, quality of sleep, pranyama,
peace, human connections, love, laughter and fun in every
class, workshop or retreat. Susie teaches complete wellness
and believes that to live the symphony of life, all of these
instruments need to be fined tuned and played!
She teaches with clarity and a great sense of lightness and joy. Susie’s gift is her ability to bring the true experience of yoga and life to each participant regardless of age, gender,
experience or current condition.
Susie currently teaches in the central New York region and
travels to present holiday retreats and motivational workshops throughout the USA and Caribbean.

Pilates Burn
Get ready to awaken & challenge your core!! In this 1/2 hour class, traditional exercises of Joseph Pilates are practiced in an organized intelligent sequence to lengthen and tone all abdominal muscles. Participants will feel and understand how to train not just core, but all muscles and bones in full extension.
The key to Pilates is that it’s not what you do, it’s how you do what you do. With guided instruction and personalized attention from Susie Birchenough, one will tune into the powerful effectiveness of Pilates. Initially, we will
break down each exercise and as we progress, the class will become a flow.
Pilates is highly therapeutic for back & body pain and imbalances. As we learn to create space between each vertebra, creating length in the spine, the abdominal muscles strengthen, which protect the back. Posture is
greatly improved, as is flexibility of the spine.
Strength, grace and confidence is heightened and one leaves this potent class feeling taller, toned and kicked up a notch! Classes are open to all levels.
