Brian Morey: Biography

Brian Morey is the Director of Production and Multimedia at the New York Institute of Dance and Education, as well as chair of Vocal and Dramatic Study.  Mr. Morey originated the lead role of Iago in the highly anticipated musical, dramatic and choreographic adaptation of William Shakespeare's Othello, entitled "Othello: Requiem for Desdemona," which is presently slated for a National and International Tour. Mr. Morey is an acclaimed performer, and multi-genre producer for White Nite Productions, NYC, having recorded new Off-Broadway shows, independent vocalists and recording artists, and produced numerous remixes for New York City shows and tours.  He also specializes in documentary, commercial, live concert, and short film DVD production as well as professional head shot photography.  In design, he works to create captivating images, posters, promotional films, and media packages for numerous national tours and festivals. 

Mr. Morey holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, with a concentration at the CAP 21 Studio for musical theater, and the Stonestreet Studios for television and film.  His tenacity at NYU lead to vocal solos at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Hammerstein Ballroom, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and The Bottom Line.  Mr. Morey has toured nationally to thirty states as the lead in The Mystery of King Tut, and has been to Asia, French Polynesia, Australia, Africa, Europe, and the West Indies, as he traveled around the globe, completing a 22-country, 6-continent international tour with Hooray for Hollywood.

Brian Morey is a world-traveling performer, and a music/film/graphic design/photography producer for White Nite Productions, NYC

Mr. Morey returned from South Africa as producing cinematographer for the Mission to South Africa, an invitation to bring “The Drummer and The Dancer International Tour,” (conceived by international producer, Sean McLeod, and Multi-platinum recording artist, Jim Donovan of Rusted Root) to South Africa and Namibia for a six-city tour, of which Mr. Morey is a featured vocalist in the electro-tribal-rock music and dance extravaganza.  Additional stops for the tour were Pittsburgh, PA, New York City, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tortolla and St. Thomas, Caribbean.

Mr. Morey is Director of the New York Musical Theater Project, a musical theater intensive component of the nationally acclaimed New York Dance Festival.  Other credits include, NYC:  Hollywood the Concert, City of Angels, World to Win, Streets of America,Ophelia.   International Tours:  Hooray For Hollywood, The Drummer and the Dancer.  U.S. Tours:  The Mystery of King Tut, Illusions.  Regional: Brigadoon, Footloose, On The Twentieth Century, West Side Story, Damn Yankees, Once Upon A Mattress, Forever Plaid, Joseph…, The Fantasticks, Big River.  Mr. Morey has also played leading characters in Animated Features:  Knight Hunters, Space Pirate Mito, Magic Readers Club, Sadamitsu the Destroyer, Slave Master (Anime Works, Media Blasters, New York Post, in NYC).  Commercial voice-over's: Acuvue Contact Lenses.
