Voice at N.Y.I.D.E.
Whether you want to learn how to pick up a tune easier, train for a night club gig, or you have your sights set on College or Broadway, you have come to the right place!
What you learn at N.Y.I.D.E. about the human voice is simple: How to use it correctly so that you can do anything you want with it! Often times, entire careers are built merely on emulating what we think the human voice should sound like. What we do not realize is that our particular voices were not meant to sound that way, and continued emulation of an unnatural sound will damage the vocal chords. Each person has a vocal sound that is as distinctive as a fingerprint. Working down to the very biology of how the human body creates noise with the vocal chords is the foundation for Vocal Study.
Drama at N.Y.I.D.E.
In studying drama at N.Y.I.D.E. you will focus on a simple objective: HOW TO BE BELIEVABLE. After all, how successful is acting if no one is inspired by your performance? And, no one will be inspired by your performance if they don't believe you.
The acting process will include scene study, character creation, background story development, working with monologues, exercises on fully understanding the text, and establishing the living script of a character. We will help you explore the elements that make an actor believable.
